The site is built for homeowners and DIYers who want a dependable starting point before they buy material, make a cut, drill a hole, or speak with a contractor or building official.

Who publishes the site

Measure Plan Build is independently published and reviewed by Rex. The publisher is responsible for the calculator definitions, calculation fixtures, guide content, source links, diagrams, corrections, and release checks.

The site does not use invented trade credentials or imply that a digital calculation is a site inspection. Authorship identifies accountability for the published method; permits, structural design, product approval, and conditions outside the stated calculator scope remain with the appropriate local authority or qualified professional.

Our standard

  • Separate calculation logic from the interface and test it with manually checked examples.
  • Show formulas, assumptions, units, rounding, and applicable limits beside the result.
  • Use diagrams to make the measurement basis easier to verify in the field.
  • Distinguish planning guidance from structural, safety, permit, and code decisions.
  • Correct substantive errors and review tools when their source material changes.

What the tools do—and do not do

The calculators help organize measurements and estimate common layouts. They do not inspect your property, identify hidden conditions, select products, issue permits, or replace a qualified engineer, architect, contractor, surveyor, electrician, plumber, or local building official.

Actual field dimensions, manufacturer instructions, product specifications, and locally adopted codes always control the project.

Current calculator library

The released library includes thirteen tested tools for spacing, wall and tile layout, gallery walls, decks, roofs, patios, stairs, flooring, railings, and landscaping materials. New calculators are published only after their formulas, content, diagrams, validation, and tests are complete.

How readers can verify the work

Every calculator displays its assumptions and relevant formulas alongside the result. Position-based tools provide cumulative marks from a common origin so readers can avoid rounding drift and compare the last mark with the measured boundary.

Supporting guides explain how to define the measurement, identify exclusions, dry-check or mock up the layout, and recognize conditions the calculator cannot evaluate. Suspected errors can be reported through the Contact page with the exact inputs and an independent reference.
