What I am responsible for
I publish Measure Plan Build and review how each calculator defines its inputs, performs its arithmetic, rounds measurements, draws its diagram, and explains the limits of the result. My goal is to make the reasoning inspectable so a reader can compare the output with a tape measure, product documentation, an approved plan, or a qualified local professional.
I also maintain the supporting guides, calculation fixtures, source links, correction process, accessibility checks, print layouts, and mobile behavior. A calculator is not treated as complete merely because it produces a number; it must expose enough of the method for the result to be checked.
How calculator reviews work
- Define the physical measurement and the boundaries included in it.
- Write the formula independently from the interface.
- Check representative examples and boundary cases by hand.
- Test invalid inputs, unit conversions, rounding, sharing, and printing.
- Compare code-related or product-specific claims with primary sources.
- State what field conditions the calculator cannot evaluate.
Experience and credential transparency
Measure Plan Build is an independent planning-tool publication. I do not present this profile as evidence of contractor, engineering, architectural, inspection, or code enforcement licensure. Where a project depends on structural capacity, permits, hazardous conditions, utilities, or locally adopted requirements, the calculator and guide direct readers to the appropriate manufacturer, building department, or qualified professional.
The site will not claim that a product or method was personally installed, tested, or inspected unless that statement can be documented accurately. Original diagrams and worked examples are identified as planning illustrations rather than photographs of a completed project.
Corrections and questions
If you find a calculation that does not match its stated formula or source, send the calculator name, inputs, expected result, and supporting reference to rex@measureplanbuild.com. Substantive corrections are checked against the source and covered by a regression test when practical.
