The service

Measure Plan Build provides general educational content, planning calculators, diagrams, and printable measurements for common DIY projects. The service is provided for personal, informational use and may be changed, corrected, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

You may use the site only if you can legally agree to these Terms. If you use it for another person, organization, or business, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.

Planning estimates—not professional advice

Results are estimates based only on the values and options entered and the assumptions shown. The site does not provide engineering, architectural, surveying, contracting, electrical, plumbing, legal, financial, or code-compliance services, and use of the site does not create a professional or fiduciary relationship.

A calculator result does not certify that a design is safe, buildable, permit-ready, structurally adequate, or compliant with an adopted code. References to an IRC edition or another published standard do not account for every local amendment, load, material, connection, site condition, or project requirement.

Your project responsibilities

• Measure the actual site and confirm every dimension before purchasing, cutting, drilling, fastening, or building.
• Check actual product dimensions, grades, limitations, installation instructions, and warranties.
• Identify utilities, concealed wiring and plumbing, structural elements, hazards, property lines, easements, and site conditions.
• Use appropriate tools, protective equipment, safe work practices, and qualified help.
• Obtain required permits and approvals and confirm locally adopted codes, amendments, loads, and inspection requirements.
• Consult a qualified professional whenever the project involves structural capacity, life safety, uncertain conditions, or work beyond your knowledge and experience.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, bypass access or security controls, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that impairs service, misrepresent results as a professional certification, or use the site to violate law or another person’s rights. Automated indexing by ordinary search engines is permitted.

Ownership and permitted use

The site’s original text, visual design, diagrams, branding, and compiled presentation are owned by or licensed to Measure Plan Build and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view, print, and share calculator results for your own personal or internal project planning.

These Terms do not grant permission to republish substantial site content, sell or license the calculators, remove ownership notices, create a competing copy from protected presentation or text, or use Measure Plan Build branding in a way that suggests endorsement. Rights in third-party standards, product names, and linked materials remain with their respective owners.

Feedback and error reports

If you submit an idea, correction, or other feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation to improve the site. Do not send confidential material or content you do not have the right to share.

Third-party services and links

The site may link to codes, manufacturers, retailers, or other third parties for convenience. Measure Plan Build does not control their content, availability, privacy practices, products, or services. A link does not by itself mean that we endorse or warrant the third party.

No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and all results are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, noninfringement, availability, or error-free operation. We do not promise that every error will be detected or corrected before a result is used.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so part of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Measure Plan Build and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits or data, project delay, material waste, property damage, personal injury, or other loss arising from use of—or inability to use—the site or reliance on a result.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability arising from the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Measure Plan Build to use the site during the preceding 12 months or US $100. The site is currently provided without charge. These limits do not exclude liability that law does not permit us to exclude.

Changes, severability, and contact

We may revise these Terms as the site changes. The current version and its “Last updated” date will remain available here. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised Terms to the extent allowed by law.

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Measurement Disclaimer form the agreement concerning use of the site and supersede earlier statements on that subject.
